ByrneLess Energy Ltd. has been set up by Anthony Byrne in Dec 2007 to answer the demand for building energy performance services brought about by recent legislative changes.
I have over 20 years experience, both practical and academic in the construction industry. Energy conservation and renewable technologies is an area of the building industry were I have always had a very keen interest. It’s an area were the industry has buried its head in the sand for far too long. Thankfully with the recent legislative changes now in place and been implemented up to 2009, we can all stop wasting energy and start saving our money and our environment.
I have recently been approved and registered as a Building Energy Rating Assessor by SEI (Sustainable Energy Ireland).
ByrneLess Energy Ltd; is fully registered and insured. We are currently undertaking the necessary training and updating our software to be eligible to carry out the BER's (Building Energy Ratings) on existing dwellings. It will become compulsory to have any dwelling that is offered for sale or rent assessed after January 1st 2009.

Its almost here! after this date any house or apartment that is offered for sale or rent will require a certificate.
This is a legal document and will prevent a sale or rental from proceeding in its absence. So as to avoid any unnecessary hassle and delays we recommend clients book in their properties now for assessing. We can also perform an Energy Audit prior to carrying out the assessment for the BER certificate. This audit will show you how and where you can enhance the energy efficiency of your home, thus resulting in a better Energy Rating. We have a Special Offer for our Energy Audit & BER. With Global warming now an everyday topic of conversation the search for information and solutions is endless. As a result of our dependence on fossil fuels (oil, gas etc.) the earth is heating up. Global warming is a real problem and is evident worldwide, even in Ireland. Seasons are changing, coastal erosion and flooding. The most significant greenhouse gas is Carbon Dioxide (Co2) primarily from energy use, and over 40% of such emissions derive from energy use in buildings. Research has indicated that carbon dioxide emissions from buildings across the EU could be reduced by 22% through improved energy efficiency. We need to stop wasting energy and while doing so we can make considerable savings to our pockets and to the environment.
In simple terms, there is so much we can do in our current homes and also, while we are constructing and renovating our new homes. For instance, better building practices, improving insulation, installing wind & solar power, improved glazing, more efficient boilers, low-energy light bulbs etc.
Recently the Government have signed the EPBD (Energy Performance Building Directive) into law. As a result new dwellings that applied for planning permission on or after Jan 1st 2007 will require a BER (Building Energy Rating) certificate before they are occupied, sold or rented. This requirement will be extended to all new non-residential buildings July 1st 2008 and to existing buildings (residential and commercial) offered for sale or rent on Jan 1st 2009.
